The Sun is Shining, C’mon Get Happy πŸ˜πŸ˜„πŸ˜ŽπŸŽΆ

“The sun is shining, c’mon get happy”Β … and it is!Β  It may be cold and it’s probably going to rain, but at the moment the πŸ”†πŸ”†πŸ”†Β is streaming in through the kitchen window and I’m basking in its warmth as I sit here with a cup of tea, a biscuit and my trusty computer.Β

As an impressionable young person I saw this movie and talked my parents into buying this record, which I still have in my vinyl collection.Β  Get Happy wasΒ one of my favourite songs from the movie and it still makes my toes itch to get up and dance when I hear it (Gordon commented just now that it’s a good quickstep … wish we had room to dance in the house 🎢)Β  There are some great songs from this movie … Blue Moon, I’ll Walk Alone, It’s a Good Day,Β andΒ Tea for Two.

This week Get HappyΒ was triggered by the cover of the latest The Big Issue that I buy from Kevin, our friendly TBI vendor, each fortnight at the Sunday Kalamunda Farmers’ Market.Β  The current Big Issue has this as its cover ….

As soon as I saw the cover the song just popped into my head and I’ve had trouble trying to erase it since.Β  Gordon suggested I put on The Sherrahs CD to block it out, so I guess I’ll just end up with a different song going around in my head 🎢🎢 😏

On the crochet front, as I mentioned in my FB post, I’ve been busy but have neglected to take photos of finished and delivered orders.Β  I’ll try and remember to take photos later this week as I race to finish a couple of orders.Β  We’re planning a camping trip, so I need to get these items finished and delivered before we take off.

The biggest challenge I’m facing at the moment is that Gordon asked for a knee warmer for his left leg that has no kneecap.Β  For some reason that knee gets very cold and this winter he’s really feeling it.Β  I thought it would be simple to crochet a knee warmer but the challenge is that you need the bulk in the front to come over the knee but not behind the knee.Β  I’ve solved that part (I think!) but now I need to work out how to put the top ribbing on.Β  It’s certainly a challenge and I may have to rip it all out and start again.Β  I also neglected to write down what I’ve done to date πŸ€” so I’ll need to take time to write it down so that I can adjust the design if I need to start again.Β  At least the bottom ribbing for below the knee is easy, it’s the actual body of the knee part that’s the real challenge.Β Β

This is where it’s at … so far ….

Nothing like a challenge to get the brain cells working overtime.Β  My other thought is that perhaps I don’t need to put ribbing on the top section but rather decrease the stitches enough that it will stay in place and not slip down but also be easy enough to actually get on over foot and knee.

Well, sun is starting to hide β›…, dishes need to be done (wish there were fairiesπŸ§šβ€β™‚οΈ to do the housework) and other “stuff” needs to be dealt with.Β  Time to shut the computer and get down to it.

Wishing you a happy, sunny day πŸ˜πŸ”†πŸ˜Ž
